Closure Question

Published on September 3, 2026 • By Fantasyfanficboi/BloatedChowhound

I'm sort of posting this off major sites/blog spots to keep it specific to those I want to see it.

A bit of Backstory before I present the full question:

I used to interact with a person online - Voice chat, Video Chat, Play games, share a bit of life happenings and so forth over the years. I'd known this person for at least 10 years. Given the type of pictures and whatnot I post, we can all assume that they're into gaining and bellies.

We all know life tends to throw curveballs, health; especially mental health - can be a big factor on why someone would change the way they want to look to others in their life. Back before the pandemic of 2019/2020 I was in a mental state where I thought I wanted to lose weight. As I was interacting with this person, they informed me that they couldn't handle communicating with me knowing that I wasn't maintaining or gaining, and that our chats are disingenuous, and that they don't think they can keep in contact knowing that I'm actually losing weight. They prefer me to be big and didn't think contact with me would be wise while I was actively losing weight.

To say the least, that hurt. Mentally. Both my self-worth and self-confidence took a major hit when a longtime friend tells me that my decision makes them - for lack of a better term - 'uncomfortable' to the point we cannot speak or interact anymore - quite literally shattered what I beleived was a long time friendship. I broke - I said goodbye, deleted the chats we had and went dark - at least to them, from then on.

Now on to the question:

Do I owe them closure for keeping no-contact?

The below list is what has changed since that interaction:
